  11.     My Quantum 200MB hard drive (originally supplied with my
  12. A3000T) is not being recognized sometimes when I boot the Amiga.  This
  13. is a recent problem after 4 years of steady use.  It tends to happen
  14. after the computer has been turned off for a few days.

  16.     On booting, the hard disk activity light stays on steadily,
  17. and I hear a steady, quiet "tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick"
  18. from the drive, instead of the usual sound of reading files.  This
  19. goes on for about a minute, and then the "Insert Workbench Disk"
  20. picture appears on the screen.

  22.     After booting from floppy, HDToolBox sees and identifies the
  23. Quantum drive, but it cannot access it.  My SCSI CD-ROM and tape
  24. drive work fine, however.

  26.     After some random number of cold and warm boots, the Amiga
  27. eventually boots from the Quantum.
  28.  
  29.     Is this problem likely to be the Quantum (my suspicion) or
  30. could something be wrong with the SCSI?
